Sofie’s independently produced debut CD Baby Boo Got Gone, released in 2004, was recorded with a handful of fine musicians such as John Magnie and Steve Amedee of the Subdudes and guitarist Jeff Pevar. In the category of blues-folk, Sofie’s CD became a top-seller at CDBaby.com. Continuing her work in the track of her signature tune Funky Rattle – an exciting, live studio performance with hearty foot-stomping, harmonica and voice – Sofie refines her craft in a new collection called Simplicity Chased Trouble Away released July 2012.

Brief History: Influenced by American blues and jazz, Sofie changed her plans from theater school to pursuing a career as a singer/songwriter. She left Sweden 1987 and settled in Minneapolis, MN, U.S.A. Utilizing her creative skills, Sofie freelanced as a stylist within the local music scene, until one of her clients, Sheila Charles, daughter of Ray Charles, hired her as a back-up singer. – Sofie picked up a variety of session work throughout the Twin Cities – from Paisley Park Studios to voice-over commercials and independent films. After a period of performing in a duo with her former husband, guitarist Preston Reed, she left Minneapolis and moved to Colorado. Sofie’s lone journey into a foreign culture generated many experiences, creating an intriguing, colorful story reflected in her music and performance.
